Helmut and Karen sent in this photo of their beautiful Garden Coop walk-in chicken coop build in Florida, along with a quick note (from Karen): “Helmut said the chicken coop plans were very clear and easy to use. He had a lot of fun making the coop with his 8-year-old grandson and son in law. We’re naming it ‘Helmut’s Hen House.'”

Hi, I love the Helmut’s hen house design and I am thinking of building it for about 5 hens but is there any way to make it easy to move, also where are the plans for it. Thanks. I do LOVE the built of it though!
Mia, you can get the plans for The Garden Coop here. Here is our post about building The Garden Coop so it’s easier to move later. If you’re looking to move it around your yard regularly, you’ll need to add skids at the bottom and some bracing to keep the frame rigid. See Larry B.’s coop on this page.
Thank you for replying, I really love your coop.
No problems with the hen house door opening it works great! Thank you for the comment.
It looks great! I like the arched detail on the hen house door 🙂 Do you have any problems opening the door — does it hit the chicken ramp at all?
